Germany, Wehrmacht. A Narvik Shield, by Wilhelm Deumer GTRexclude the reverse in postcard format(Narvikschild). Constructed of silvered zink, the obverse consisting of a shield bearing a propeller, anchor, and edelweiss, symbolizing the Luftwaffe, Kriegsmarine, and Gebirgsjger, respectively, topped by a date of 1940, an inscription of NARVIK, and a German national eagle perched on top of a wreathed swastika, the reverse retaining two of four attachment prongs, unmarked but demonstrating the characteristics of a closed shoulder variant produced
