Constructed of blackened bronze, the obverse with a symbolic depiction of the Schlageter Memorial, flanked by a NSAP style German national eagle clutching a wreathed mobile swastika and an inscription of DER ALTEN GARDE (THE OLD GUARD), above an inscription of FR TREUEN KAMPFDIENST ZU EHREN AH, NSDAP GAU DSSELDORF (FOR FAITHFUL SERVICE TO THE STRUGGLE FOR HONOUR OF AH, NSDAP DISTRICT DSSELDORF), the
