A Baden Civil Merit Medal, Gold Grade Small Version, constructed of gilded bronze, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon, the obverse bearing a raised and leftward facing profile of Grand Duke Friedrich II, circumscribed by name and title, the reverse bearing a central wreathed inscription of FR VERDIENST (FOR MERIT), the obverse engraver marked RM for Rudolf Mayer, Karlsruhe,
